If you liked this book so much that you
would love to read a similar one, you might like these…
I suggest, ‘The Book Thief’ which is also written by Markus Zusak, so it is quite the same style, also very
thought-provoking. It is told by the death and is set before and during the Second
World War. It is the story of a nine-year old girl. The books that either are
presents or she steals from the Nazi collections of books are the main
conflict.
If you liked about the story the fact that
the main character grew, did more than he ever though he would be capable of,
as well as the mystery that is to uncover, you might want to take a look at ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog at
Nighttime’ by Mark Haddon is told from the perspective of an autistic boy
that wants to reveal who killed the dog in his neighbourhood. However, he finds
much more out than he thought, what is going to change his life a lot.
You may also like ‘The Boy In The Stripped Pajamas’ by John Boyne. it plays while the
Nazis were in power in Germany and tell the story about an ordinary boy and his
quiet unusual friendship that leads in the end to a huge misunderstanding. It
is very thought-provoking but also pretty sad.
