Monologue

Milla Johnson has just re encountered her true love, Jimmy, whom she has waited for for sixty years. After Jimmy (Ed) and Milla shared a dinner together, “Jimmy” gave Milla a kiss goodbye. Jimmy leaves and Milla gets ready for bed...

I can’t believe my very own eyes. Sixty long, hard years of waiting and crying have halted today! My Jimmy has returned. I knew he would come back. I knew it, I knew it. He always promised he would. I should’ve known he was searching for me this whole time. I hope with my dear heart that he never leaves me again. Those voids I once felt have now been filled because of the precious company of my love. Oh Jimmy. I can’t wait for you to tell me what happened when we were apart. It’s felt like an eternity since I last saw your face. Must I say Jimmy hasn't aged a day! Oh for goodness sakes I’m tearing up. I've always been so emotional. That was the most fantastic dinner I've had in years. It was nice to have him by my side again. He’s such a card. I’m frightened that I may have bored him with my day-to-day travels however. That conversation we had over dinner was spectacular. Jimmy always knew the perfect things to say. At the age of eighty two I’m very lucky to have re encountered my love, Jimmy. It is quite an age and for that I am very thankful.  I hope to see him soon. I couldn't be happier. Tonight I will have only the best dreams a women can have.
